What is the MYP Personal Project?

In the final year of the IB MYP (10th grade), each student completes a Personal Project. The Personal Project is a significant piece of work that is the product of the student's own initiative and creativity. This year MYP students will present their Personal Project to a combined panel of parent volunteers and IB teachers that will collaborate.

Students in grade 10 must complete a personal project. The student selects the subject of this independent project. The process of student creation takes 6-8 months. The student works with a teacher or mentor and focuses on a particular area of interaction. The personal projects are submitted in early Spring of sophomore year.

The report demonstrates student engagement with the personal project and summarize the experiences and skills recorded in the process journal. Personal Project Assessment The Personal Project report (and not the product) is assessed by the student's Supervisor along with a group of JQUS teachers using IB Rubrics Criterion A-D.The I.B MYP personal project is a seemingly complicated project that is due at the end of your sophomore year in high school. IB Diploma Program - Extended Essay Content Area 1 About 4,000 words in length, the Extended Essay is a required project for each diploma candidate. It is an independent project which is planned and completed with the help of an individually assigned mentor, beginning the spring of the junior year.

All students must complete a personal project in grade 10. All students must complete a 4000 word research essay in English over the period of their final two years. All students must complete an 800-1300 word essay based on the Theory of Knowledge course. All students must meet the minimum requirements for CAS as defined by the MYP and IB.
